Exploring the Pros and Cons of Dentures in Sacramento

Dentures have long been a trusted solution for individuals dealing with tooth loss. Dentures in Sacramento offer an effective way to restore functionality and improve the appearance of your smile. However, like any dental solution, dentures come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.

In our previous blog, we discussed important considerations to keep in mind before getting dentures in Sacramento. In this article, we’ll delve into the pros and cons of dentures to help you make an informed decision.

Pros of Getting Dentures in Sacramento

  • Restored Appearance and Confidence

Dentures in Sacramento can transform your smile, filling in gaps caused by missing teeth. A confident smile can enhance your self-esteem and improve your social interactions, helping you feel more comfortable in personal and professional settings.

  • Affordable Solution Compared to Implants

Dentures are often a more budget-friendly option compared to dental implants or bridges. They provide a cost-effective way to address tooth loss while still offering improved functionality and aesthetics.

  • Non-Invasive Procedure

Unlike dental implants, which require surgery, dentures are a non-invasive solution. This makes them an excellent option for individuals who may not be candidates for surgical procedures due to health concerns or personal preferences.

  • Improved Chewing and Speaking Ability

Missing teeth can make chewing and speaking difficult. Dentures help restore these abilities, enabling you to eat a wider variety of foods and communicate more effectively.

Cons of Getting Dentures in Sacramento

  • Adjustments and Fit Issues

Dentures may require periodic adjustments to ensure they fit comfortably as your mouth changes over time. Ill-fitting dentures can cause discomfort or even sores if not addressed promptly.

  • Periodic Adjustments or Replacements Needed

Since dentures do not stimulate the jawbone like natural teeth or dental implants, they can lead to bone loss over time. This may result in changes to your facial structure and the fit of your dentures.

  • Bone Loss and Jaw Structure Changes

Dentures require regular cleaning and maintenance to prevent plaque buildup and ensure longevity. Additionally, they must be removed and soaked overnight, which may feel inconvenient for some users.

  • Limited Lifespan

While dentures are durable, they have a limited lifespan and typically need to be replaced every 5–10 years. Over time, wear and tear can affect their appearance and functionality.

Who Should Consider Dentures?

Dentures are an excellent choice for individuals looking for a non-invasive, affordable solution to replace missing teeth. They are particularly suitable for those who may not be candidates for dental implants or other surgical options. A consultation with an experienced dentist in Sacramento can help you determine whether dentures are the right choice for your needs.

Conclusion:

Dentures offer a practical solution for restoring your smile and improving oral functionality. While they have their limitations, the benefits of improved confidence, affordability, and accessibility make them a valuable option for many individuals. Patient Testimonials

Beautiful office, friendly staff, terrific dental care.

by Trevor Derrett

Had a great visit today and got to know the people that work there. They made me feel comfortable as the change of ownership is taking place.

by Bonnie Schrader

I am so impressed with the entire experience. From the friendly reminders, to entering the office, and especially the dentist! My previous dentist Stephen C Ott, DDS, was incredible. I had the benefits of his gift since 1971. I was worried about finding a new dentist. However, I was blessed to have Dr. Ott recommend his dentist: Dr. Lillian Stojic. I recommend her to all!!!

by John Murphy III

I've been seeing dr stojic since I moved to town 18 years ago, my whole family has transitioned over there and I love the whole team! Keep up the great work!

by Carrie Carsell

Dr. Lilliana and her staff make getting teeth cleaned and a cavity filled as good an experience as possible. They get the job done with minimal pain and discomfort.

by Age Advantage S.

I just had a visit to Dr. Stojic's office. My ten year old daughter had an infected tooth that had to be extracted. She was so nervous and scared at the possibility of an extraction. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by her office manager and then by her equally kind assistant who brought us back to her room...

by Kristi L.

Dr. Lilliana and her staff are not only effective and efficient, but they also remove my anxiety. When I had to have a root canal, I was nervous about the pain. I was given the choice of Nitrous oxide gas and that calmed me.

by Gail M.

Dr. Stojic saw two of my children. The youngest was so comforted by her easygoing and confident demeanor that he was the quietest and most still 4 year old I've seen in a dentist chair! Our older son was very afraid of the dentist and has been to a couple other dentists who were unable to treat him because of his scared behavior. Dr. Stojic was very patient and helped him understand what she was doing at every step, which calmed him down so she was able to fill his cavities and even extract a tooth. We were thoroughly impressed with Dr. Stojic and her office and staff.
